CMC (Carboxymethyl Cellulose), also known as cellulose gum, is a water-soluble polymer derived from purified cellulose sourced from wood pulp or cotton, with high purity levels (≥ 99.5%).

Main Benefits in Food & Beverage Industry
Thickening & Viscosity Control
Adds body, smooth texture, and mouthfeel to sweetened beverages, syrups, sauces, yogurts, frozen desserts, and broth-based soups (chemifin).
Stabilizer & Suspending Agent
Prevents phase separation (water/oil) in products like juice, sauces, and ice cream, and helps stabilize proteins in low-pH beverages.
Water Retention & Shelf-life Extension
Reduces dehydration and crystallization in baked goods, ice cream, and canned fruits—helping retain moisture, freshness, and extended shelf stability (chemifin).
Binder & Starch Replacement
Acts as an efficient binder or starch substitute in instant noodles, frozen snacks, and supplements. Starch replacement ratio: approx. 1 part CMC can replace 5–6 parts starch.
