ACID HYDROCLORIDA is a clear, colorless solution of hydrogen chloride (HCl) in water. This acid is very corrosive, a strong mineral acid that has many uses in the industry. Hydrochloric acid is found in nature as stomach acid.
Historically called muriatat acid, and the spirit of salt, hydrochloric acid is produced from vitriol (sulfuric acid) and ordinary salt. This acid first appeared during the Renaissance, and was later used by chemists such as Glauber, Priestley and Davy in their scientific research.
With the main production beginning in the Industrial Revolution, hydrochloric acid was used in the chemical industry as a chemical reagent in the production of large-scale vinyl chloride for PVC plastics, and MDI / TDI for polyurethanes. This acid has many smaller-scale applications, including household cleaning, gelatin production and other food additives, descaling, and skin processing. About 20 million tons of hydrochloric acid are produced worldwide every year.
