Methylene Chloride (MC) is a type of colorless chemical with a smell like chlorophome, volatile, and has a sweet aroma. Methylene Chloride is widely used as a solvent. Although not soluble in water, Methylene Chloride dissolves with many organic solvents. The ability of Methylene Chloride to dissolve various organic compounds makes it a useful solvent for many chemical processes. Methylene Chloride is widely used as a paint stripper and grease cleaner. Other uses are as blowing agents on polyurethane foam and aerosol spray. Methylene Chloride is also used in the garment printing industry to remove the heat transfer of garment printing machines.
